Wonderful videoconferencing and videocalling app, very easy to use, with extremely useful features such as a text chat panel, the ability to share documents, recordings, even websites - and it's open source & secure. Hard to imagine anything better, yet they keep improving it!

NHS Digital

Total pain in the xxxx. I refuse to have a mobile phone so having to get this just to display covid vaccination data was a nightmare. I selected to recognise the device and not need a code again. However, wanting to input the booster I have just received in France I had to update the app, and it immediately required a code sent to the neighbour's mobile phone I used last time. This + the inability of the NHS to send by post a certificate with the right QR code = classic UK incompetence. The developer's reply shows they didn't read my remarks & can't conceive there are people who don't/won't have a phone. Please just develop a separate covid app that ANYone can use, & with the functions of the French pass sanitaire (book vaccinations, view statistics, show proof of vaccination, etc.). With reference to the latest reply, first I am impressed that they do read replies but second, I have the version for a PC installed on my laptop, that's the one which I asked to be recognised and for no more codes to be sent (as I would not be able to receive them) and the obligatory updating was followed by sending a code which means it is unusable. Device recognition is probably beyond the system anyway - I only have to restart my computer for google to send me a warning that there has been a new login to my account or welcome me to my new device, so if they can't do it.... One cannot set up this PC version without a mobile phone to receive codes in the fist place, unlike the pass sanitaire which just works - brilliantly (last night at midnight it informed me that my latest vaccine was now validated, offered a link for where I could now travel, etc.) Thanks for your final remarks - if you could do a separate one, which could read QR codes too, then it would be easy to update the NHS records of vaccinations received. It appears to be impossible to do this at the moment - my GP practice cannot do it either.

The old app wouldn't update, just pending for ever, so updated it from playstore. Result: when I try to open it 'service unavailable' which means I cannot log in to my HMRC account. Well done HMRC! I opened it again and it generated an access code, so I was able to contact to my HMRC account, but then when I tried to get to a different page on the app I got service unavailable again. My tablet was 1 metre from my wifi hub fed by fibre internet. So connection problems come from the app not the connection. Like most things, great when it works, a nightmare when it doesn't.

Hi David,
Sorry about this.
The "Service unavailable" message shows if your device has connection issues or if the app can't connect to HMRC's services.
Would you mind trying again? If the problem lasts for more than a day, please contact us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to investigate.
Many thanks,
HMRC App Admin Team
