Crashes on article load, frequently asks to login, no back gesture support.

Very disappointed to see that, while the app can still be used without an account, if you do not have an account you must tap through a “Make an account” page every time you open the app. Much logged out personalization is also gone, ostensibly to force you to make an account. Bad sign for the future of the app.

Bring back the old app from 6 months ago. This new one is trash. You can’t even highlight words and hit lookup anymore. Why would your developers take out that functionality. It’s part of iOS so for it to not work means someone at BBC decided it was a good idea.
Today, I open the app, click on live coverage about the mayor of Paris. A pop up is asking me if I want emails and it won’t go away. The app is almost unusable. I’m just going to uninstall and maybe try again in a few months.
You guys have ruined a good thing.

Used to be great - now terrible. Cannot swiped back from stories, doesn’t have popular news in one easy tab, loads some stories then they disappear and swap out for another set within a second. A big leap backwards

I’m still using it but I found the old format more intuitive. Also, the ability to select and zoom pictures is no longer available. Honestly fully BBC can add that functionality back.

This used to be my go-to app for news. No longer. Constant crashes, especially with video news articles, can’t rotate video to landscape full screen, links sometimes launch into browser instead of staying in app, format is clunkier and less elegant, etc etc. Why ruin a good thing? It almost seems like deliberate sabotage, it’s that bad. I now just use a browser for BBC news. Such a shame for what used to be one of the best news apps. Fire whoever made the decision to implement this downgrade.

… not too long ago, this app rocked. The interface was great. Visually, it was pleasant and inviting. The news loaded fast. Well, that was once upon a time. Videos do not load as quickly, or do not load at all. The upgrades, have turned my daily “go-to” news app to one I occasionally open. What happened? Did you offer the job of the upkeep of the app to highschool dropouts? T E R R I B L E A P P

Since the recent upgrade that also happens to include the red to black color change on the logo, this app has become very annoying and pretty much useless because of the way news are now presented. Very disappointing experience.

This used to be one of the best news apps. But over the past 2 years or so every update has made it progressively worse.
So if you want clickbait news with no follow through on the narrowest of topics, this is the app for you.

Honestly why change from your old format. Read the reviews! We all hate your new app!
