CareFirst App (Not great)

There are a lot of good BCBS apps for different products. Sydney is a great example of a BCBS companion app.
This one is not. The developers have a lot of work to do based on both my experience and the under whelming reviews on this page.
This is not an app I would be proud of and is frankly, a disservice to the end user/consumer. Please do better.

Less than one star (not an exaggeration)

Doesn’t always login, never successfullly displays ID cards, no features work properly. It constant says “ My Account is having issues gathering your member information.
Please try again later. If this problem continues, please call Technical Support at 877-526-8390.”
But never gets improved
We pay a lot of money and deserve better service from such a well known company. This is an embarrassment and should be to BCBS as well.

Doesn’t work

This app doesn’t work. It never accepts my username and password even though I can log in just fine on the website. Useless.

Bad all around

This is the worst app I have ever seen. Every time I use it something is broken. Today I press the “Login to My Account “ link, and nothing happens - I can’t log in at all!! Last week the app would crash when I entered my password. The week before the link to getting my membership card did not work. An app for something as important as healthcare should not be this unreliable!

What are these devs doing?

Sorry, this is the worst iPhone app I ever used.
After the first button doing nothing, I was able to register my account and log in for the first time. Cool, thought it worked.
Then I return to it.
Aside from being painfully slow and being full of buttons that do nothing, it forces you to log in again every time manually. Seriously?? It’s 2024 this isn’t new code, copy paste and enable Face ID login already.
After logging in, which requires a 2fa code EVERY time, guess what happens!
Absolutely nothing. White screen of death. Closing and restarting the app does nothing.
Fix your app, or throw it away and start over with a better dev. It’s so frustrating I’d fix it myself if I had access.
Do your jobs, people actually rely on your services working to be able to access healthcare and make decisions!!!

We should be able to expect better

Obviously this app is useless. The link to simply log in has been broken for weeks. There is also obviously no one who cares to fix it. We should be able to demand better from health insurance companies, the smallest ask being working means to access our information and care.
