This replaces a chart plotter
The only thing it is missing is a clock in the corner

Please consider adding an interface for apple watch with overview map and navigation to a waypoint. It would be really nice when fishing to primarily use the waterproof device strapped to my wrist as opposed to pulling out my phone while paddling a kayak.

I have a Garmin UHD Fish Finder / Chartplotter, but prefer to dedicate that to the sonar & use an iPad for navigation. I downloaded quite a few different apps to test their functionality and ease of use. I-Boating won easily. I’m fishing the lower Chesapeake Bay & coastal VA, and this app gives me all I need and then some. Very intuitive & simple to use, but highly detailed for navigation, routing, contours etc. That being said, there are a couple tweaks that would make it even better. First, the icons to identify waypoints or destinations are severely limited. I fish a lot of wrecks, but there’s no icon for wrecks or obstructions so I have to use the Fishing Reef icon for everything. Second, I sometimes use a different iPad or iPhone, and the data saved to one doesn’t transfer to the others. I thought maybe when I bought the US Maps it would remedy that but no luck. Last, in a perfect world you could draw/outline & identify a custom area. For instance I have a particular area of the York River that I like to drift over for flounder when the wind & tides are ideal. I wish I could circle that area & label it. But all in all still the best nav app I’ve seen.

I purchased the USA and Canada pack. The app worked fine until there was an update. Since then i have been without my purchased content and the development team will not get back to me. I would greatly appreciate if this could be corrected and I can provide proof of purchase.

These maps are great for finding structure that holds bass, stripers, etc. in the different seasons of the year and also a great tool for navigating a lake.

when i searched for a gps app for my boat i was told Navonics was the he best. unfortunately i hir the wrong app with my big fingers and ended up with “i boat”. Not even close to the hat i’m looking for,very disappointed . Would like a refund if possible.

I’ve been around lake Bridgeport now going on 25 yrs and never really did more than wet a hook from the shore with rocks. My best friend Brad died a short while ago and his mother has passed also I have adopted a 21 yr oldso we decide to get him a good starter boat. So we been fishing lake Bridgeport and in good need for navigation especially when water is low. Got to teach them the correct way while they are young in hopes to share with his kids. But this app look like something he needs and can keep him fishing instead of swimming. I am but this story has a lot of meaning cause I am like 60% total disabled. Sorry about long review but keep up your good work for people like me.

Helped me find a boat launch site close to deep water that I could get to fast compared to other boat launches having me drive my boat farther out to get the the deeper depths for fishing.

I was a little hesitant to try out automatic routing when their tech support told me about it. Now that I have tried it I have to admit it’s very useful. It’s able to identify the channel and route around islands and rocks. I was impressed that when I changed the draft, it was able to identify the channel like I would have done it manually. The route changes every time I change the draft. So that seem to be working. Not sure that I would rely entirely on fully automatic. But it’s definitely a good step in the right direction.
Update: The latest update is fantastic. Now the only app in my Navi folder that has underwater 3d imagery.
